Transfers to Jericoacoara
Your target airport is either Fortaleza or the new Jericoacoara Airport. From Europe, TAP and IBERIA airlines offer direct flights to Fortaleza from Lisbon/Madrid. Other carriers often are routed through Sao Paulo or Rio, before arriving in Fortaleza. From North America TAM is the main carrier routing through Miami.
Airlines going to Jericoacoara airport include GOL and Azul, and only include domestic flights for now, coming from Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Campinas and Recife.
Shared & private 4x4 transfer
A good option is to hire a 4WD vehicle (Ford F250 or Toyota Hilux) with driver to travel from the airport to Jericoacoara, as those are appropriated off-road vehicles that can transport from 1 to 8 passengers with luggage. This is the fastest and more comfortable way to travel to Jericoacoara and can pick you up at either airport at the time you request.
Bus transfer
There is a bus service from Fortaleza to Jericoacoara, operated since 1966. The company offers a VIP service which runs everyday with a morning and an afternoon departure. After the route Fortaleza / Jijoca or Preá, the passengers are expected to move to the four-wheel-traction pick-up truck ("jardineira") to reach Jeri.
Helicopter
This is the fastest and most comfortable way to get to Jericoacoara, and also the most expensive! By helicopter you travel to Jericoacoara in only 50 minutes, enjoying a flightseeing along the entire west coast of Ceará, where you will see the most uninhabited and virgin beaches of the state. You will land just a few steps from your pousada, and you can also choose to just spend the day in Jeri, since a helicopter allows you to view many of the turistic areas quickly and from a privileged angle.
